Though he’s been an independent broker for well over 15 years, in one form or another, Jeff Tillman’s been involved in the commercial real estate industry for almost three decades. He started out in corporate real estate, then completed a successful stint in the hotel development sphere, playing a role in both the buying and selling of corporate and resort properties; he has also worked in finance, marketing, and other areas related to the commercial real estate field.
To date, Jeff’s completed transactions in every niche of the commercial real estate industry; his project work includes leasing and sales transactions for the corporate office, industrial, development, investment, medical, dental, and veterinarian medicine markets. He’s especially proud of the skillset he’s earned through representing landlords and tenants alike, and he credits this wide-ranging experience for providing him with a rich, unique and informed perspective on each deal he’s involved in.
In 2011, Jeff joined NAI Puget Sound Properties, where he values the opportunity to work alongside a team of brokers that are not only experienced and knowledgeable, they’re committed to scaling up a company culture centered on integrity, hard work, client dedication, and respect. He has the space to stay neutral in all cases and work with clients of all sizes, and a highlight of his job is going above and beyond to help entrepreneurs realize their end goals.
Jeff is also grateful for the NAI PSP team’s commitment to the Puget Sound region. He was born and raised in Seattle and is currently based in Seattle’s downtown business core. Though Jeff’s reach is now global—and though he spent part of his career conducting business internationally (including trips to Asia and Europe)—he remains committed to the PNW. He feels his experience overseas, combined with his intimate knowledge of the Puget Sound region, has helped to broaden his approach to his work.Over the years, he’s watched the Emerald City evolve and enjoys leveraging his personal knowledge of Seattle’s business communities, political history, and spheres of influence to support his clients in singular and effective ways.
One of Jeff’s career high points was working on a deal related to the historical Harvard Exit Theatre on Broadway in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Because of the efforts involved in that project, the building has now been revitalized and repurposed for new entrepreneurs and local businesses to enjoy for generations to come. Another highlight was working with the North American General Manager of Hainan Airlines to lease China’s first commercial airline office in the United States; it’s now located in SeaTac, Washington.
On evenings and weekends, Jeff can most likely be found doing something outside (“something very Northwest”). He especially likes showing off the beautiful, nature-rich golf courses in the Seattle area to his California “desert golfer” friends. As a rule of thumb, he tries to live by the Albert Einstein quote, “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value,” understanding that bringing value to the table is an inevitable precursor to achieving success (whereas the reverse is seldom true). This mindset guides him in all things he does on behalf of this clients—and the dedication pays off: Jeff is consistently recognized by clients for his sincere approach, high degree of customer service, and business ethics.
